Maryland Wellness’ passionate team is made up of clinicians, counselors, advocates, specialists and other professionals who bring their varied set of lived and learned experiences to support our clients and their families, as well as our partners, each and every day. One of our core values is collaboration among our team and with our clients’ families, referring partners and their other physicians in order to create the best possible outcomes for our clients. Please meet just a few of our amazing team members.

Community Outreach Team

Leeann Roderick (she/her)

Strategic Partnerships Program Manager

Leeann brings over 10 years of experience in the behavioral health field, with a background spanning inpatient, outpatient, and residential substance use treatment. She has served in both administrative and peer-focused roles and previously helped develop an agriculturally based recovery curriculum on a working farm, supporting more than 75 women over five years.

As a person with lived experience in substance use and mental health recovery, Leeann is passionate about breaking down barriers and expanding access to care. She was drawn to Maryland Wellness to help bridge gaps in mental health services within her community and strengthen partnerships that connect individuals to needed resources.

With a background in environmental science, Leeann values the healing power of nature and its role in overall well-being.

Corinna Forwood (she/her)

Community Relations Specialist (North Eastern Region)

Corinna Forwood serves as a Community Relations Specialist for Harford and Cecil counties, bringing over 10 years of experience in healthcare, workforce development, and case management. She is passionate about connecting individuals and families to resources, helping strengthen community partnerships, and supporting access to mental health care.

Corinna’s connection to the field is deeply personal, having witnessed firsthand how mental health challenges can impact every aspect of a person’s life. This experience drives her commitment to reducing stigma and building supportive networks so individuals feel empowered to seek care and support. She finds joy in bringing people together and helping others navigate their mental health journeys.

She was drawn to Maryland Wellness for its people-first approach, compassion, and integrity, and values being part of an organization where she can make a meaningful impact. Outside of work, Corinna enjoys spending time outdoors, attending local events, and being with her family.

Lisa Potillo-Crawley (she/her)

Community Relations Specialist (Southern Maryland)

Lisa Potillo-Crawley serves as the Community Relations Specialist for Prince George’s and Charles Counties at Maryland Wellness, where she builds and maintains partnerships that expand access to mental health services through community outreach, engagement, and events.

A Washington, DC native and first-generation college graduate, Lisa earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Bucknell University and brings more than seven years of experience in the wellness space. She began her career focusing on physical well-being and became a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) during the pandemic before transitioning into marketing alternative wellness modalities and later into mental health advocacy and community engagement.

Lisa is passionate about reducing stigma surrounding mental health and connecting organizations to better serve their communities. She was drawn to Maryland Wellness for its innovative, community-centered approach to bridging gaps in care.

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys caring for her 25+ houseplants and planning her next self-care outing.

Jonathan Dayton, MS, CNE, NREMT (he/him)

Community Relations Specialist (Western Maryland)

Jonathan Dayton is a Community Relations Specialist at Maryland Wellness who brings more than a decade of experience in rural healthcare, emergency services, and nonprofit leadership to his work. With a background as Executive Director of the Maryland Rural Health Association and Community Relations and Population Health Manager at Mountain Laurel Medical Center, Jonathan helps strengthen communities, improve access to care, and support individuals in achieving better health outcomes. Jonathan believes in meeting people where they are and creating meaningful, lasting impact. He is known for his dedication, collaborative spirit, and passion for service—whether supporting individual clients or advancing public health initiatives. His approach emphasizes relationship-building, listening, and working together to develop solutions that enhance well-being and foster equity across communities. Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys exploring the outdoors and traveling with his family. He is also an active volunteer firefighter and EMT, combining his love of adventure with service to others.

Stephen Johnson (he/him)

Community Relations Specialist (Central Maryland)

Stephen Johnson brings over 20 years of experience in the medical field, with the past decade focused on public health and community outreach. His work has included developing outreach programs for Maryland Medicaid in partnership with Skygen USA and contributing to initiatives at Johns Hopkins University, including The Schaufeld Program for Prostate Cancer in Black Men, where he supported research funding, education, and community awareness.

Stephen is passionate about empowering communities through education and increasing access to care. He is especially driven to address gaps in physical and mental health support, helping individuals make informed, healthier decisions and working to break down stigmas surrounding mental health and substance use. He was drawn to Maryland Wellness for its commitment to personalized care and its mission to foster healthier, more supported communities.

Outside of work, Stephen is a self-proclaimed movie enthusiast who enjoys analyzing storytelling, production quality, and performances through a critical and creative lens.

Amanda Schappell (she/her)

Marketing Specialist

Amanda Schappell brings a creative and mission-driven approach to her work as Marketing Specialist at Maryland Wellness. With over a decade of design, content strategy, and digital marketing experience, she has built a career focused on using creativity to make meaningful connections. Her experience spans multiple industries including healthcare, where she developed a passion for promoting wellness and advocacy through authentic storytelling. Amanda believes that creative communication can be a powerful tool for change. She is dedicated to sharing Maryland Wellness’s mission in ways that inspire hope, reduce stigma, and make mental health resources more accessible to all. Known for her thoughtful design and strategic storytelling, Amanda helps bridge the gap between awareness and action in the community. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her dog.
