Identifying and managing stress – with tips from our team!

Thursday, April 27, 2023

April is Stress Awareness Month, and it reminds us that it’s an important time to arm ourselves with knowledge so that we recognize when stress rears its ugly head and we are ready to cope.

Stress is a natural response to challenging or overwhelming situations, but if it becomes chronic, it can have serious effects on an individual’s physical and mental health. Chronic stress can affect a person’s immune system, increasing their risk of developing various health conditions, such as heart disease, obesity and diabetes. It can also have detrimental effects on a person’s mental health, including anxiety, depression and burnout. People experiencing high levels of stress may struggle with sleep disturbances, fatigue and cognitive difficulties, such as poor memory and concentration. Additionally, stress can lead to behavioral changes, including irritability, social withdrawal and substance abuse. It’s essential to identify and manage stress levels before they escalate to a point where they significantly impact a person’s quality of life.

Some of our team members have offered tips on how they manage their stress – we hope you are able to take something new away from this to help manage your stress and stay well. You matter to ALL of us!

“I do nothing but give praise to this establishment. My first time there, I was very nervous, but that quickly changed once I was greeted by the amazing staff in the front office. I can never leave that place with a frown on my face. I would recommend this facility to anybody in need of mental and drug counseling. They are the best I have ever experienced, and that is no lie.”
