National Social Work Month at Maryland Wellness!

Tuesday, March 15, 2022

March is Social Work Month, which highlights how the services social workers provide are needed now more than ever as our nation addresses economic inequality, systemic racism, the need for improved health and mental health care, COVID-19 and other issues. In fact, social workers are everywhere people need help navigating tough life challenges. They contribute to interdisciplinary care teams in schools, hospitals, mental health centers, nonprofits, corporations, the military, and in local, state and federal government.

Social workers support individuals and their families through difficult times to help improve outcomes in people’s lives. Professional social workers are estimated to be the largest group of mental health service providers in the United States. In fact, social workers are often the only mental health care providers in many rural and remote communities.

Thank you to our wonderful Maryland Wellness social workers who make a difference every day in our clients’ lives!
