Maryland Wellness Featured on “Conversations with Rich Bennett”: Unveiling the Hidden Heroes of Mental Health

Thursday, April 24, 2025

We’re thrilled to share that Maryland Wellness was recently featured on the insightful podcast, “Conversations with Rich Bennett,” in an episode titled “The Hidden Heroes of Mental Health.” Our Community Relations Coordinator, Leeann, Rehab Specialist, Ralph, and PRP Counselor, Ashia, sat down with hosts Rich and Wendy to shed light on the transformative impact of our Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) services in Harford County and throughout Maryland.

The conversation delved into the unique ways our dedicated team goes beyond traditional therapy, building strong relationships and providing crucial support through home visits and personalized care. A central theme of the discussion was our unwavering commitment to a client-steered approach.

As Ralph emphasized during the episode, “Everything is client steered. We’re not going to sit here and impose what we think you need to work on. The client’s going to have a say in how their treatment goes, as long as it’s appropriate and safe.”

This powerful statement encapsulates the core of our PRP philosophy. We believe that the most effective mental health care empowers individuals to actively participate in their own recovery journey. By prioritizing the client’s voice and respecting their autonomy, we foster trust and create a collaborative environment where they feel heard, understood, and in control of their treatment.

Our PRP services are designed to address a wide range of needs, focusing on building essential life skills, fostering independence, and promoting overall well-being – all while ensuring the client’s perspectives and goals are at the forefront.

We invite you to listen to the full episode of “Conversations with Rich Bennett” to learn more about the dedication of our team and the positive impact of our PRP services.

At Maryland Wellness, we are proud to be a part of the “hidden heroes” working tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of individuals seeking mental health support.

“When I first started, I was afraid to talk but once they started telling me about this program, I started to open up more. They taught me that I am important; it’s about me today. They have taught me to forget about the past and focus on my goals – my GED,  nursing, helping the homeless, volunteering, etc. This is the most amazing, awesome program in Baltimore, and that’s from my heart. The staff is wonderful, amazing, beautiful, unique and have hearts of gold.”
