Get Started Today

Recovery Starts with Understanding Your Needs

Substance use can affect anyone, regardless of age, career, family, or background. Whether you’re seeking treatment for the first time, returning to treatment or looking for continued support, your experience is unique, and your care should be too.

At Maryland Wellness, every individual begins with a comprehensive assessment. This conversation helps us understand your experiences, strengths, goals, and any mental health concerns that may be affecting your well-being. From there, our team develops a personalized treatment plan designed around your individual needs.

Because Maryland Wellness offers both mental health and substance use disorder treatment, you can receive coordinated care in one organization. If anxiety, depression, trauma, or other mental health concerns are affecting your recovery, our providers can work together to address your needs and support your overall well-being.

Why Choose Maryland Wellness?

Choosing treatment is an important decision. At Maryland Wellness, we focus on providing compassionate, coordinated care that supports the whole person.

Integrated Care

Our mental health and substance use providers work together to coordinate your care whenever appropriate, creating a personalized treatment plan that addresses both your recovery and your mental health.

In-Person Support

All substance use disorder treatment is provided in person at our West Road location in Salisbury. Meeting face-to-face allows you to build meaningful relationships with counselors and connect with a team that understands your experiences and supports your recovery.

Flexible Scheduling

Our Intensive Outpatient Program is offered three days each week, providing scheduling options that can make it easier to balance treatment with work, school, family, and other responsibilities while completing the recommended hours of care.

Personalized Treatment

Your treatment plan is based on your unique needs, goals, and progress. As your recovery evolves, we’ll continue adjusting your care so you receive the right level of support every step of the way.

Finding the Right Level of Care

No two people begin recovery in the same place. Your comprehensive assessment helps us understand your needs and determine the level of care that is most appropriate for you.

Your treatment may include our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), Outpatient Program (OP), Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), or a combination of services based on your needs. As your needs change, we’ll continue working with you to determine the level of support that is most appropriate.

Our Substance Use Disorder Treatment Services

Maryland Wellness offers multiple levels of care so you can receive the support you need today while building a strong foundation for long-term recovery. Through coordinated mental health and substance use treatment, our team helps you develop the skills, confidence, and support system needed to move forward.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

When you need more support than traditional outpatient counseling but can safely continue living at home, our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides a structured path for recovery while allowing you to maintain many of your everyday responsibilities.

IOP combines evidence-based treatment with the flexibility to continue working, attending school, and caring for your family. Because programming is offered three days each week, participants can schedule treatment in a way that meets the required hours while fitting more easily into their daily lives.

At the heart of our IOP is in-person group therapy, where participants connect with others who understand the challenges of recovery firsthand. These shared experiences help reduce feelings of isolation while fostering encouragement, accountability, and hope.

In addition to group sessions, you’ll receive individualized support focused on your unique recovery goals. Throughout treatment, our experienced behavioral health professionals help you strengthen practical skills that support lasting recovery, including:

  • Understanding triggers and developing healthy coping strategies
  • Building relapse prevention skills
  • Managing stress in healthier ways
  • Improving communication and relationships
  • Establishing healthy daily routines
  • Strengthening problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Building accountability through consistent participation
  • Developing a supportive recovery network

Rather than asking you to put your life on hold, IOP is designed to help you build recovery into your everyday life while remaining connected to the people and responsibilities that matter most.

Every treatment plan begins with a confidential assessment that helps our team recommend the level of care that’s right for you.

Outpatient Program (OP)

Our Outpatient Program (OP) provides continued support for individuals who are ready for a less structured level of care while remaining actively engaged in recovery.

OP may be recommended as a step down from a higher level of treatment or as an appropriate starting point based on your assessment. Through individual counseling, recovery planning, and ongoing support from our behavioral health professionals, you’ll continue building healthy coping skills, addressing new challenges, and making meaningful progress toward your recovery goals.

Because Maryland Wellness provides integrated behavioral health services, we can also address mental health concerns that may affect recovery, giving you coordinated care designed to support your overall well-being.

With appointments designed to fit around everyday responsibilities, many participants can continue working, attending school, caring for family, and managing daily life while receiving ongoing support.

Not sure whether outpatient treatment is the right fit? Complete a referral for care, and our team will guide you through the next steps and recommend the level of support that best fits your needs.

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)

For some individuals, medication can be an important part of recovery.

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) combines FDA-approved medications with counseling and behavioral health services to help reduce cravings and manage withdrawal symptoms when clinically appropriate.

At Maryland Wellness, MAT is provided as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. Our medical and behavioral health providers work together to determine whether medication is appropriate for your needs, monitor your progress, adjust treatment when necessary, and provide ongoing support throughout your recovery.

This coordinated approach allows you to receive medical and behavioral health care from one team focused on helping you achieve lasting success.

If you’re wondering whether Medication Assisted Treatment is right for you, complete a referral for care, and our team will help determine whether MAT should be part of your personalized treatment plan.

“I do nothing but give praise to this establishment. My first time there, I was very nervous, but that quickly changed once I was greeted by the amazing staff in the front office. I can never leave that place with a frown on my face. I would recommend this facility to anybody in need of mental and drug counseling. They are the best I have ever experienced, and that is no lie.”

“When I first started, I was afraid to talk but once they started telling me about this program, I started to open up more. They taught me that I am important; it’s about me today. They have taught me to forget about the past and focus on my goals – my GED,  nursing, helping the homeless, volunteering, etc. This is the most amazing, awesome program in Baltimore, and that’s from my heart. The staff is wonderful, amazing, beautiful, unique and have hearts of gold.”
– K.S., Baltimore
