Maryland Wellness Transitioning to New Electronic Health Record (EMR) System

Thursday, May 21, 2026

Maryland Wellness will begin implementing a new electronic health record (EHR) system over the next several months. This updated system is designed to improve scheduling, communication, virtual visits, intake forms, and other parts of your care experience.

You will continue working with the same providers and care team you know and trust.

If you previously received services through Seaside Counseling and Wellness Center or The Personal Wellness Center, you will begin seeing the Maryland Wellness name more frequently in reminders, texts, emails, paperwork, and other communication. These organizations are now part of Maryland Wellness, and these updates are connected to your ongoing care.

As the new system goes live, you may see several improvements in how you interact with our services:

Appointment Reminders and Scheduling
You may receive updated text or email reminders with easier options to confirm appointments or request scheduling changes.

Forms Before Appointments
You may begin receiving forms or questionnaires before your visits that can be completed on your phone, tablet, or computer. Completing these in advance helps your provider better understand how you are doing and supports more meaningful appointments.

Virtual Appointments
New tools will make virtual visits easier to access across devices, with a smoother check-in experience.

Text Message Updates and Reminders
Text messaging will play a larger role in keeping clients connected to appointments, forms, scheduling updates, and important communication from Maryland Wellness. Please do not reply STOP to reminder messages unless you no longer wish to receive communication from us.

Billing and Account Updates

As part of this transition, you may notice a few updates related to billing and account information:

Payment information: For your privacy and security, credit card information cannot be transferred into the new system. Clients who keep a card on file or use electronic payments will need to re-enter payment information after the new system launches.

Billing timelines: Any balances for services provided before June 15, 2026 will be billed through our previous system, while services on or after June 15, 2026 will be billed through the new NextGen system.

Information verification: During the transition, our team may occasionally ask you to confirm information already on file to ensure records transfer accurately.

Questions

If you have questions about these updates, you can speak with your provider or contact our Operations Team at 410-314-1030 (press 2 when prompted).

We appreciate your patience as we work to make your care experience easier to access and manage.
